Rice And Vegetables In Wine

Vegetables

 

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 onion -- chopped

1 medium zucchini chopped

1 medium carrot -- chopped

1 stick celery -- chopped

1 cup long grain rice

1 1/4 cups vegetable stock or water

1 cup white wine

 

Heat the oil in a saucepan and saute the onion. Add the rest of the

vegetables and stir them over a medium heat until lightly browned.

 

Add the rice, vegetable stock and white wine, cover and cook for about

15-20 minutes until all the liquid has been absorbed.

 

30 minutes to make

 

Good source of vitamin A

Savoury Rice

Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00

Categories : Rice

 

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 medium onion -- chopped

1 cup long grain rice

(part wild rice if desired)

2 cups vegetable stock or water

1 tablespoon soy sauce

 

Serve with steamed vegetables or salad.

 

Heat the oil in a deep saucepan and saute the onion.

 

Add the rice to the saute and stir over a medium heat until the rice begins

to go clear.

 

Add the vegetable stock and soy sauce and cook, covered, for about 15-20

minutes, or until the liquid has been absorbed. Stir and serve hot.

 

30 minutes to make

 

Good source of vitamin A
