Does anyone have a recipe for >its use. ---- Joan, how lucky! To try new vegetables. Colin Spencer's Vegetable Book mentions black radish. Sometimes called long-rooted Black Spanish. There is also a round variety. Must be picked young, they quickly go woody and are inedible. Boiled with their skins on for about 10 minutes, then peeled and sliced, they are excellent with an aioli mayonnaise. (Treat like salsify or scorzonera.) sounds like we could use it like carrots or turnips too. what's it taste like? pat -:- Pat Hanneman (ICQ 50232533) http://home.earthlink.net/~kitpath/ New Recipes ~ Weekly Food Links McRn : MasterCook Resource Network
