Guest guest
Hi, Everyone! I am so pleased with this service (which I am not affiliated with in any way), that I wanted to share this with you. The service is " BrightMail " and it is a spam-blocking service. You download something from their website and then " install " it -- which changes some settings in your e-mail. Thereafter, all your e-mail is routed through BrightMail and known spam is *not* delivered into your mail box, but is held by BrightMail. You can check your " caught spam " whenever you want to and make sure that no legitimate e-mail has mistakenly been caught. They have a very high rate of accuracy. I have been using the service for over a week now, and it has blocked all but 2 pieces of spam and no legitimate e-mail has been blocked. If spam does get through, you send it to them at a special address, so they can block it in the future. If legitimate e-mail is " caught " as " spam " , you can have it sent to you, and you can also send it to a special address for BrightMail to let them know it is legitimate so it is not blocked in the future. This service only works with POP3 mail servers. It does not work with web-based e-mail (such as Hotmail, , Excite, etc.), AOL, or web-tv. I was receiving 10-15 spams per day, and it was really annoying me! Now,. all this spam is intercepted by BrightMail and I don't have to deal with it in my inbox. I check the BrightMail " caught spam " every few days and then report it through SpamCop (http://www.spamcop.net). To find out more about BrightMail, their website address is: http://www.brightmail.com. I hope this is as helpful to many of you as it has been for me! Karen C.
