Guest guest Posted September 29, 1999 Report Share Posted September 29, 1999 with chopped nuts or ground seeds * Exported from MasterCook * Hungarian Boiled Noodles with Nuts or Seeds Recipe By :Nika Hazelton, Hungarian Cookery (article) Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Pasta Side Dishes Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 8 ounces fine egg noodles (fino) OR linguine broken into 3-inch pieces Or short egg noodles 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 2 tablespoons butter or margarine or olive oil Boiled Noodles with Walnuts (Dios Teszta): Cook noodles in salted water according to package directions. Drain. Meanwhile saute walnuts in butter until lightly browned. Add to drained noodles. Place in top part of double boiler over hot water for 30 minutes fefore serving to meld the flavors. Boiled Noodles with Poppy Seeds (Makos Teszta): cook noodles as above. Drain. Toss with 1/4-cup butter and 2 tablespoons ground poppy seeds. Omit nuts. Boiled Noodles with Caraway Seeds (Komeny Teszta): cook noodles as above. Drain. Toss with 1/4-cup butter and 1 tablespoon ground poppy seeds. Omit nuts.
