Guest guest Posted October 4, 1999 Report Share Posted October 4, 1999 * Exported from MasterCook * " Chicken " Patties Recipe By : Vegetarian Times Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 15 oz cans garbanzo beans 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats -- uncooked 1 clove garlic -- minced salt and pepper to taste Drain garbanzo beans, reserving liquid. In a food processor or blender, process beans with about 1/2 cup liquid, adding more liquid if needed to make a smooth, thick paste. In a medium mixing bowl, combine bean paste, oats, garlic, and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well, adding additional bean liquid or oats as necessary to make a mixture that holds together well and keeps its shape. Shape mixture into 8 patties about 1/2-inch thick. Spray a 12-inch nonstick skillet with vegetable cooking spray. Heat skillet over medium-high heat. Add patties and cook until golden brown on each side, about 5 minutes. Makes 8 servings. Helpful Hint: You can also serve patties with potatoes, cranberry sauce and steamed vegetables.
