Lightly butter a 9 x 13 baking dish. </DirT> <DirT> Place chocolate in a medium bowl. In a large, heavy saucepan, bring the cream and granulated sugar to a simmer. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate. Let stand, covered, for 5 minutes, then stir until smooth. Beat the eggs and vanilla into the chocolate mixture. </DirT> <DirT> Butter the bread slices and then cut into cubes. Layer 1/2 of the bread into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Top the bread layer with the banana slices. Top with remaining bread, then pour in the custard. Press the top of the pudding gently with a spatula to be sure that the bread at the top soaks up some of the custard. Cover the dish with aluminum foil. </DirT> <DirT> Bake the pudding for 45 minutes, or until the custard is set. </DirT> <DirT> Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon. </DirT> <DirT> When the pudding is set, remove foil and sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon topping and return to the oven; increase temperature to 450 and bake for 3 to 4 minutes to brown top and caramelize the topping. </DirT> <DirT> Cut into rectangles and serve warm, garnished with whipped cream and banana slices. </DirT> </DirS> <Desc> from Mrs. Fields I Love Chocolate Cookbook </Desc> <Note> This is decadent. I & apos;ve made it for the holidays the past 6 years. Always serve it warmed. </Note> </RcpE></mx2>
