Easy Microwave Pear Sauce

6 cups ripe, cored, and cubed pears(any variety)

1/4 cup water

2 tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon lemon juice

 

Combine all ingredients in a 2-quart microwave-safe measure or bowl. Cover;

microwave on high for 6 minutes. Stir pear mixture; rotate dish a quarter turn

and microwave at high 6-8 minutes longer or until tender.

Puree mixture in blender or food processor. Makes about 3 cups.

NOTES : Pear sauce is great used in recipes but also served warm with cream or

cold with whipped topping, sour cream or ice cream. Use in preparing

reduced-fat baked goods.

You can make this conventionally by increasing water to 1/2 cup with above

ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cook over medium heat for 10-15 minutes or until

pears are tender. Puree pears as above.
