Guest guest Posted November 10, 1999 Report Share Posted November 10, 1999 from www.whitewave.com Tofu Chili & Beans Tofu Spaghetti Sauce * Exported from MasterCook * Tofu Chili & Beans Recipe By : www.whitewave.com 10/99 Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Beans And Legumes Soups And Stews Soyfoods Vegetables Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 pound White Wave Tofu -- frozen thawed and squeezed dry and chopped into 1/4 " cubes 1 1/2 cups cooked pinto beans 3/4 cup tomato paste -- (see note) 1/4 cup water 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1 tablespoon oil 1/4 tablespoon onion powder 1 teaspoon cumin 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder 2 tablespoons oil 1 cup chopped large onion 1/2 diced green pepper 1 clove garlic 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder 3/4 tablespoon cumin Serves 4-6 Note: recipe said 3/4 can tomato paste. Combine tofu through garlic powder and set aside. Saute onion, green pepper and garlic in 2 tablespoons oil. Add tofu mixture and sauteed veggies to cooking pot and barely cover with water. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 30 minutes. Serve. Soyfoods Vegetables Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 pound White Wave Tofu -- frozen thawed and squeezed dry and chopped into small pieces 1/4 cup soy sauce 2 tablespoons oil 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1 medium onion -- diced 2 cloves garlic -- minced 2 carrots -- diced 1/2 cup olive oil 1 green pepper -- diced 6 cups tomato sauce 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1 tablespoon basil 1 tablespoon honey 1/2 cup parsley Marinate tofu for 30 minutes in 2 tablespoons oil, soy sauce and garlic powder. Saute onion, garlic cloves, carrots, and green pepper in 1/2 cup olive oil. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer gently for 20 minutes. Add marinated tofu and simmer 10 minutes more.
