Guest guest Posted November 11, 1999 Report Share Posted November 11, 1999 * Exported from MasterCook * Lima Bean Tzimmis Recipe By : Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Vegetarian Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cup dried lima beans 5 cups water 3/4 cup uncooked brown rice 2 3/4 cups halved prunes 1 large onion -- coarsely chopped 4 large carrots -- cut in 1 " segments 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. salt 2 Tbs. honey 1 Tbs. lemon juice 1. Cook lima beans in water in a covered pot for about 30 min., until partially tender. Add rice, prunes, onion, carrots and cinnamon. 2. Replace cover and cook gently for 30 min. Add salt and honey. 3. Cover and cook 30 min. until stew is thick and all the ingredients are quite tender. Stir in lemon juice before serving.
