Guest guest Posted November 18, 1999 Report Share Posted November 18, 1999 for Classic Spa Lasagna * Exported from MasterCook * Tomato-Basil Sauce Recipe By :Bill Wavrin, The Rancho La Puerta Cookbook Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/2 teaspoon olive oil 1/2 medium onion -- chopped 4 medium tomatoes -- chopped 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil freshly ground black pepper 4 cloves garlic -- chopped In a large saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat and saute the onion for about 5 minutes, until golden. Add the garlic and tomatoes, and saute for about 2 minutes, until the tomatoes begin to soften. Add the basil and simmer for about 1 minute, until the basil wilts. Transfer to a food processor or blender and process for a few seconds until blended but still chunky. Season to taste with pepper and serve.
