Guest guest
I have a bad time making rice on the stovetop but in the microwave it is a cinch. Now I haven't tried this with regular rice, but I have done it with Minute Brown Rice and also with Basmati rice. For Basmati Rice, put 1 cup of rice in a microwaveable dish large enough to fit the rice when it is cooked, add 2 cups water, a little salt or your favorite seasoning, and cover it with some plastic wrap (do not vent). Place on HIGH for 13 minutes (or more depending on the wattage of your microwave). Take out and let sit for 5 minutes. Then fluff with a fork. If it seems like it needs more time, cover it up again and place on HIGH for another minute or two. Should be done by then. For Minute Brown Rice, do it according to the box. Timing depends on the amount of rice and servings. Works perfectly every time and I never have stuck rice on the bottom of the pan anymore. Also it is separate and fluffs beautifully. If you have a microwave then there is no excuse for bad rice ever again. Test it with the brand that you use. Should work. RisaG
