A Little Italian

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

2 tablespoons dried basil

2 tablespoons dried marjoram

2 tablespoons dried oregano

2 tablespoons ground coriander

2 tablespoons dried thyme

2 tablespoons dried rosemary

2 tablespoons dried savory

1 teaspoon hot red pepper flakes

 

Use this herb and spice mixture in pasta sauces or with braised or roasted

vegetables. MAKES A SCANT CUP

 

In the bowl of a food processor, combine all the ingredients. Process for

30 seconds until finely ground. Transfer to a tightly sealed container,

label. and date. Store in a cool dark place for up to 3 months.

 

Serving size = 1 tablespoon 12 calories 0.4 gram fat 0 milligrams

cholesterol 1.5 milligrams sodium
