Guest guest Posted December 21, 1999 Report Share Posted December 21, 1999 * Exported from MasterCook * Millet-Miso Vegetable Stew Recipe By :Amazing Grains by Joanne Saltzman Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil 1/2 cup coarsely cut onion 1 cup coarsely cut carrots 1/2 cup coarsely cut celery 1/4 cup coarsely cut sweet red pepper 6 cups kombu stock or another vegetable broth 1/2 cup millet -- dry-roasted 1/2 teaspoon sea salt 2 tablespoons barley miso 2 tablespoons tamari soy sauce 2 tablespoons wine (optional) Heat a heavy-bottomed soup pot over medium-high heat and add oil. Saute vegetables, sealing them one at a time. Add kombu stock and bring to a slow boil. Add millet and sea salt and simmer for 30 minutes.
