Enjoy Jenn Ottawa, Ontario, Canada http://tlotc.dhs.org/jenn/ * Exported from MasterCook * PASTA ALLA MARINARA Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Pasta Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 3 tablespoons olive oil 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped celery 1/2 cup chopped carrots 2 (28 oz) cans plum tomatoes, diced -- juice resereved 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1 pound spaghetti -- cooked 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese -- freshly grated Heat oil in large Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onion and cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Add celery and carrots and cook, stirring, 5 to 8 minutes more, until vegetables soften. Slowley add tomatoes and juice, breaking up tomatoes with spoon; add salt and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer sauce 1 hour, stirring occasionaly, until thickened. (makes 4 3/4 cups) Toss hot pasta with 3 cups sauce. Divide into six shallow serving bowls.
