Curried lentil soup

Hi here is a recipe that I'm making for supper tonight :) It is high in fibre

and low in points. You can add a dollop of fat free yogurt on the top to make

it creamy. It my version of the indian lentil soups you get in restaurants

" Dals " I think they are called. I like to make a vegetable curry to accompany

this dish ( same seasonings in a pot with veggies and water thicken with

cornstarch or mashed potatoe) Happy New year

CURRIED LENTIL SOUP

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 cup lentils -- green

1 cup lentils -- red

1 onion -- chopped

1/2 lemon

pinch cumin

pinch tumeric

pinch paprika

pinch ground cardamom

pinch ground fennel

pinch garlic powder

pinch pepper

5 cups water

pinch salt

3 drops Tabasco sauce

 

Combine lentils water and spices in a saucepan. Sqeeze juice from 1/2 the lemon

and remove seeds, put lemon in sauce pan and bring to a boil. Once boiling set

temp to low and cover. Cook 30-45 min stiring a few times. Remove lemon and

serve.
