Sorry I am sending the other part now.E,mail was cut off ,

But purchasing expensive things to Government is far more profitable for the

people who are involved in rackets than saving money and eradicating rabies.

We will never forget WSPA,Peta ,Last Chance for animals for their support

during that time and during the horrible time they used strichnine

injections to kill dogs.Ultimately Municipal stopped using strichnine. But

they kill dogs using gas..There are malpractices. Now Kotte has a veterinary

surgeonT.Kotte Municipal is charging 56 rupees to give antirabies from multi

dose vial.In other parts of the country that is given free.Earlier these

multi dose vials were given to government veterinary surgeons. They use to

open these vials in a particular day of the week and immunise dogs in the

area free of charge.Dr swrna warnasooriya a veterinary surgeon was a pioneer

of organising free sterilising campaign in Kurunegala district. There was a

very good doctor a health director who suppored this programme. He banned

killing dogs. But he was removed from his post.later Kacpaw started the

programme.

It is really cheap to use depoprovera to control dog population. One vial is

about one US dollar .That can be given for 3 dogs. This is recomended by

health department but they don`t have enough money to do that .Local

authorities can finance the project .Now Colombo Municipal is doing that.

After care is not necessary. It is very popular in Colombo and Kotte. Colombo

Municipal is vaccinating them free of charge.

Kotte municipal is not giving depo-provera.I am vaccinating them free of

charge in Kotte area.

It would protect the dog or cat for 6 months. There are other contraceptive

injections also.We can help large number of dogs when we use depo provera.
