Guest guest
Help ! Fur is coming back ! All dressmakers have recently made some graments with fur. Valentino with silver fox, Dior and Lagerfeld with zibeline and mink. " What an horror ! " are already shouting the protectors from all over the World. And, between ourselves, they are right ! We clearly understand that prehistoric men had to wear furs in order to protect themselves from cold. But nowadays ? If they go on further, some persons from Jet- Set consider themselves as prehistoric people from the XXthe century. Anachronis which often makes us laugh when we imagine them nearly naked and covered with an animal skin and equiped with a blackjack. What an horror ! We can say it ! Fortunately, animals have got new protectors : AFIPA. Helped by the famous and the best people from fashion, they attack the use of fur and its drifts. They don't want netheir " traditional " skins nor skins from pets (dogs, cats and horses) in the catalogs of mail-order such as DAMART, DAXON, LA REDOUTE and QUELLE. AFIPA has decided to attack this ones. Why ? Because, in the middle of false fur, we invariably find true fur. As the use of true fur in garments is rarely clearly mentioned, the customers often buy true fur, thinking it's false one. After all, if the customers buy some suffering, they must be informed. That will avoid some drifts... A trafic of dogs and cats has been discovered by HSUS American association, a few months ago. A trafic which made billion of death. Animals were killed on cruel way for their skins. There was a flood of this skins on the market and, now we find dogs and cats skins on garments, shoes and toys. Don't you find that horrible ? North America like Europe have been invaded by " dimishing assets " . Nowadays, and during the following years, we risk to find on our back, our favorite pets. Because a wolf skin and a german shephered skin are hardly distinguishable. So, tempted ? We don't think ! Like mentionned in the AFIPA slogan, " Without animal skins, because I want it so ! " This campaign launched on the First of November, is the first of AFIPA. And, as has been anounced a french journalist, they attack on a " big piece " . They know very well that they will be able to be helped by the protectors. Yet, their task will be make difficult by the furriers. The dressmakers could propose to models a big contract to make a campaign fail. So, Helena NOGUERRA, Juli ORDON, Agata BUZEK and Sabrina MAGALHAIS are some supports as the Princess Anne of Bourbon Sicile. Prevention is better than cure !!! The ax of their campaign is simple : that DAMART, DAXON, LA REDOUTE and QUELLE accept to remove the true fur from their catalogs. A petition has been put in vigor by AFIPA to the attention to this firms : http://lapetition.com/sign1.cfm?numero=522 Some associations who come from different countries and even from Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Danemark and Slovenia) are very well represented. And, we note by this engagment an evolution of mentalities which will only be able to lessen the turn over of animal suffering ! We give an appointment on the 26th of January to AFIPA, date on which the campaign will be closed. Who will have won ? Who will be beaten ? We will know that in a few weeks. Personnaly, I give you an appointment next week with a new article on this campaign, on dressmakers and on models. To have some informations on AFIPA : http://www.afipa.ift.cx respectfully, Nicolas BISCAYE
