The pair, an 8-year-old male named Mamy/2 and a female named Soafiavy, who is about 3 years old, arrived from the east African island nation in September as part of a joint breeding project with Tsimbazaza Zoo in the Madagascar capital of Antananarivo, they said. (Kyodo News) Japan Today Discussion Nice cage... NOT! 10 (Nov 23 2001 - 12:03) Nice that endangered animals are protected... Sad that more often then not, the enclosures are completely inadequate... I hope those lemurs get a better deal than most of the animals I've seen in the zoos and aquariums of Japan... Can you say antiquated facilities? Still, when you consider the size of the average pad in this country, you can't really blame the people for treating the animals like they treat themselves... Then again, maybe you can...
