Saving unwanted species of marine life

I am indeed shocked to receive this email- So in the eyes of the originator

of this email - it is bad to kill unwanted species, but it is ok to kill

wanted species! I am even more stunned with all the discussion on killing of

dogs & cats in Korea, but that it is ok to kill pigs & chickens & cows-

because the latter are not animals?

If you love animals then why are some pets & the other dinner!

I believe it was George Bernard Shaw who said, " The eyes are the windows of

the soul, how can you kill any thing with eyes "

Please forward to the AAPN group

If you say you are for the animals, you are a compassionate " Vegetarian " or

a hypocrite!

You can always rationalize anything, even to kill your own mother. But the

truth is the truth!

I apologize for my effrontery! But I am somewhat perplexed by the

overwhelming Non- response to my diatribe about the wanted & unwanted species

etc etc. I am really wondering how many of us are:

1) Animal lovers & therefore Vegans.

2) Are somewhat animal lovers and are Vegetarians

3) Are animal lovers but with convoluted logic will hold up placards to save

some rare species- the siberian tiger but will have no qualms about gorging

on barbequed chicken!

Any takers!!

Sincerely

Chalissa1

( I am a vegetarian)

Dear Chalissa1,

Without knowing how many subscibers there are to this List, it is impossible to

determine

the extent of apathy shown to your emails.

My own love of " animals " is based on my adoration of all created beings, and not

on my

eating habits by being a Vegan. I know plenty of Vegans who are Vegans because

of their

religious commitments, but care nothing for sentient beings - they are the

Frozen Chosen

of their various religious sects. I know also of meat-eaters who spend their

lives trying to save

animals, and vegetarians too who love animals, or just don't care.

In truth, there are few of us who are vegetarians/vegans because we revere Life.

May I suggest it is not so simple to analyse and categorise after all?

With love

R

We have 190 rs on this list.

I suspect that the only thing we all have in common is an interest in Asian

animal issues.

I am always happy to ally myself with anyone who has a common aim - I don't

think it is a good idea to insist that everyone I work with holds exactly

the same views as myself.

Personally I don't understand how anyone who cares for animals can eat them

but I know many people who do excellent work on behalf of certain species

yet seem to have no qualms about eating other species.

How they manage to do this I don't know. But I do know that without their

support progress on some issues would be much slower.

But the key to any well founded opinion is knowledge - the spread of

knowledge is what this list is about.

John.
