Arna the elephant lost the case because unless Animal Liberation wins an appeal Arna is condemned to a solitary life with the circus. Her life is shocking. It includes being shipped from state to state, being forced to perform sensless acts for human entertainment and she spends much time standing by herself with nothing to do. Elephants are intelligent herd animals. They were never intended to live solitary lives. God help Arna and other animals like her.
