Guest guest
Posted for Dr.Michio Nakamura Please contact him for further information at michio Dear Sir/Madam, I am sending this e-mail on behalf of Dr. Toshisada Nishida, the former President of International Primatological Society. He, with collaboration of others, has launched a project to award the great apes " World Heritage Status " in order to prevent the extinction of them. For more detailed information of the project, please see web pages whose URL are in the bottom of this e-mail. In order to obtain World Heritage Status for the great apes, we have to gather information of NGOs/NPOs who are working to conserve any of the great apes and their habitat. Compiling of information about NGOs/NPOs is important, when negotiating with UNESCO, because we will be able to show them how many people and organizations are interested in, and actually are involved in, the effort to conserve the great apes. So, we will be happy if you answer the following questionnaire about your conservation NGO/NPO, and return it to me (michio) at the earliest convenience possible. The information you will give us will be used only for the above purpose. We will send you the news of our progress in the near future, and also will ask your opinions for making preamble for the World Heritage Species Status. Replying to this e-mail does not necessary mean that you positively or wholly support this project (of course we will be happy if you do so). In other words, we are not asking you to make quick decision that you are for or against this project, but simply we need the basic information of your NGO/NPO. I also appreciate if you provide me information about other NGOs/NPOs also working for the conservation of the great apes in order to compile an exclusive list. You can distribute this e-mail if you wish. Thanks for your time and cooperation. Yours sincerely, Michio Nakamura, ph D Research Fellow of the Japan Monkey Centre michio (On behalf of Dr. Toshisada Nishida) ---------------------- [QUESTONNAIRE] a) Name of organization: b) Nationality of organization: c) Name of the representative person: d) Name of the corresponding person if different from c): e) Mailing address: f) E-mail address: g) Web site if available: h) Name of periodical publication if available: i) Number of members: j) Country(s) of activity: k) Area(s) of activity: l) Focus of conservation (within 4 great apes): m) Recent activities: ---------------------- [EXAMPLE] a) Name of organization: Mahale Wildlife Conservation Society b) Nationality of organization: Tanzania c) Name of the representative person: Hosea Y.
