Guest guest
URGENT GREYHOUND ACTION INTERNATIONAL ALERT: STOP GREYHOUND RACING IN SHANGHAI BACKGROUND Greyhound racing is responsible for the suffering and the deaths of countless numbers of greyhounds around the world. There is no hope or opportunity of rehoming the greyhounds that are surplus to requirements in Asia. They are ending their days being butchered in the barbaric dog meat industry. Racing is already underway in Vietnam, Macau, Korea and more recently China. A shipment of greyhounds from Australia have already arrived in Shanghai Wild Animal park. Shanghai Wild Animal Park Development Ltd is a joint venture between Shanghai City Government and the National Forest Department. The existing animals that live in the park are already suffering cruelty and abuse, what hope have the greyhounds got unless we take immediate action to help them. URGENT ACTION TO HELP THE GREYHOUNDS 1) Please remember that the track is under construction and has not been completed yet. They are hoping to start racing next year. This is an opportunity for us to stop them, so please consistently write, fax, email or if you can telephone the contacts below to voice your objections. 2) Put pressure on the Australian minister Warren Truss (minister for live export) to call for an immediate ban on the export of greyhounds to Asia. Contact details can be found on our website www.greyhoundaction.co.uk(Australian section) 3) Put pressure on the Australian racing authorities to stop the export of greyhounds to Asia. Details can be found at www.greyhoundaction.co.uk(Australian section) 4) Contact your local MP, MEP and RSPCA (International section) and ask them to take action to stop the export of greyhounds to Asia. Please forward any replies to greyhoundactioninternational. 5) Contact the media and expose the situation, shame the countries that are partaking in greyhound abuse. 6) Contact the tourist offices and let them know what you think of greyhound racing in Asia.
