Guest guest
RAJASTHAN's STATE ANIMAL INDIAN GAZELLE IN GRAVE PERIL Can YOU DO SOMETHING ? The largest possible population of the Indian Gazelle (Gazella gazella) in India is found in the Indian Desert where the total failure of annual monsoon has NOW resulted in pressuring these beautiful, fast running and docile animals to kneel down to eating the plastic bags which are littered across the region as the grass, shrubs etc are non-existent. An S.O.S. initiative has been started (1 Jan 03) for nearly 350 Gazelles at the village Aao (in Phalodi tehsil of Jodhpur district; along Jodhpur-Phalodi-Aau-Chadi-Nagaur road) : *Shri Mota Ram Chaudhary (residing at Aao) is offering the " Phalgati " Fodder to the Gazelles (it is the stem, leaves and pod of Guar tree, after the grains have been thrashed out). *Shri Hanuman Singh Bishnoi (residing in Khichan near Phalodi) is procuring the " Phalgati " Fodder and supplying it to Shri Mota Ram. *So many philanthropic persons are contributing to this SAVE GAZELLE MISSION. How about joining the campaign which will last until the rains are received in that region : Contribute by cheque to be in favour of " Tourism & Wildlife Society of India " (I. Tax exemption is available) or cash against the receipt. Conservation of wild life means better life for society. Your inquiries are most welcome about (a) More details about the mission, and (b) Visiting the spot to offer fodder with your own hands etc. Kindly contact : Harsh Vardhan, Hony. Secretary, TWSI.
