Ye Fangrong, a 63-year-old retired official from a branch of the Agricultural Bank of China in the Danzhou City, learned that a fisherman had captured a large turtle near his hometown of Paipu, so he went and bought the turtle for 590 yuan (US$71). The turtle is about 68 centimetres long and 42 centimetres wide and has 13 large shells on its back.
