That is the name of the grain - millet. The part eaten by people is small round golden-yellow seeds. Just like birdseed, which is also largely composed of millet! Millet is eaten (traditionally) in quite a few places in Africa and Asia. It's very good nutritionally, outstanding as grains go in fact. I like millet and often put some millet in bread I'm baking, to add a nice crunch. Generally, though, it's boiled and eaten as you would, say....mashed potatoes or rice. In other words, it's a starchy food like rice. I like millet prepared that way too - it's a nice change from rice. More info: http://www.icrisat.org/text/coolstuff/crops/gcrops3.html (This is just info on one variety of millet, but if you want to know more, you can Google for it. So far as I know, all the millet varieties are pretty much the same as far as cooking and eating go.) Lots of recipes with millet here: http://www.recipesource.com/cgi-bin/search?search_string=millet & imageField.x=18 & \ imageField.y=15 Pat
