Soy takes my breath away truely bad,and barly and rye do too. Too much rice will also. Oatmeal if used in regular servings don't bother me too much so I make my mock burgers with it. Becki Gluten is the name for the protein common to several different grains (wheat, barley, rye, spelt, kamut). However, soy is not a gluten grain and neither is rice. It sounds to me as if you are having a problem handling all polysaccharides (complex sugars). I wonder if you have looked into gut issues with your naturopathic doctor.
