Guest guest
Whether the story is true or not is irrelevant. I have seen two persons in the final stages of rabies and both reacted differently from the other. I have also seen some videos made by the Stray Dog Free Bangalore persons where a person dying of rabies was being tormented by shaking a bottle of water in front of his face just to show the horrors of rabies. As I said before, whether the story of the person who died succumbed to rabies from a dog or a bat or died from some other disease is not important at this point. What is important is that it is most unfortunate that Dr. Kala Santha who is genuinely interested in animal welfare has given such wide publicity to some report which is likely to create an unfortunate scare in Sri Lanka. Thoses of us who are interested in animal welfare are equally if not more interested in human welfare. If some positive benefit to humans or animals comes about by some action, well and good. Otherwise, it is best to keep quiet. S. Chinny Krishna
Guest guest
I must thank Mr Cliffton for his reply and my respect for Blue cross has diminished after Dr Krishna`s reply. Rabies is a notifiable Disease in Sri lanka. Besides my brother was drowned in a swimming pool and my father died 5 weeks later and I know the pain of losing someone whom we love. That news report was with pictures in Sri lankan National Newspaper named Lankadeepa .They sell over 100,000 copies daily. We estimate that about 800,000 Sri lankan read that paper. I don`t know the number of Sri Lankan who for AAPN ,but i know 8,00,000 Sri lankan don`t to AAPN.I know Champa Fernando of KACPAW in Sri lanka to AAPN and she is a friend of yours. Previous Government wanted to gift two elephants to Croatia .I sent e.mails to AAPn to stop that . The officers of the Prime Minister`s Office told me that a person has copied all my e.mails to AAPn and sent them to the Prime Ministers office ..Is that the positive benifit for humans and animals ? Even then we were able to stop that. Kala Santha
Guest guest
I agree with you. If helping animals is the issue, the sender of the above news should not made such a big publicity about it. PV
