Guest guest
- " Debbie Yeoman " <bornfree4eva <info Sunday, March 27, 2005 10:12 AM Kerala Puppy House Charitable trust To Whom it May Concern My name is Debbie Yeoman, I am from New Zealand and the founder and Director of the Kerala Puppy House Charitable Trust, registered charity no. 122/IV/04, in Kovalam, Kerala, South India. After visiting Kerala in 2003 I was so devastated at the cruelty and ignorance towards animals, especially dogs, I started the Kerala Puppy House. We take in puppies and dogs that are homeless, maimed, injured, orphaned or sick and treat them, vaccinate them and try and rehome them and sterilise all pups/dogs that come to the centre. We employ 5 local people, have an oncall doctor and plan to start our own sterilisations in the very near future funds permitting. It is also our intention to educate the people by way of visiting schools and giving educational talks etc. A program is being set up this month and appointments are being made at schools. We are set up very well and our centre is kept very clean and tidy, we have had many positive comments from overseas Veterinarians and people in general who have come to visit. We have all the necessary equipment and assets but are lacking in the day to day funding of the centre. At this time the centre runs solely on money provided by myself from the rental of my small house in New Zealand. However it is not enough for the day to day running costs of the centre. I receive 10,000 Rupees a month and it is costing on average appx 40,000RS to run the centre. I have put a tremendous amount of blood sweat and tears into this centre, I am getting physically exhausted and need help. Every penny I have ever owned has gone into the centre but unfortunately my resources are running out and we are desperate for funding and desperate for volunteers. I am even considering having a larger animal welfare organisation take over the Puppy House and donating all our capital assets etc to that organisation, if you know of any organisations I might try, please advise. For further information about us please visit our website www.keralapuppyhouse.org Any information or assistance you may be able to provide, or links as to where I might apply for funding or volunteers would be much appreciated. Yours faithfully Debbie Yeoman Kerala Puppy House Charitable Trust
