A virus comes in an attachment. Digests don't include any

attachments so no, you won't get a virus from the digest.

Even if you get a virus in your email you won't get

infected unless you open the attachment.

Just to be safe though, never never open any attachment

from anyone (this includes your very best friends) unless

they tell you beforehand that they are sending it, what it

is and what the file name is. Have anti-virus software in

your computer and keep it updated too.

Cindy,

I get the digest also and I didn't see it. I think strips the

attachments off when they send the digest out. I have Norton Antivirus and

it didn't see it. But I also get the digest in test format not HTML

format - don't know if that makes a difference.

I saw the e-mail, and mine had an attachment........ I would think that

you would have had to download the attachment to get the virus......... I

just deleted it due to the warnings that came ahead of it. Kendra

I agree. Being in digest mode tends to be an intrinisic protection inof

itself. Still doesnt' beat doing the occasional viral sweep for extra

security though. :-)

Hey Max,

>>I am not showing any virus with my scan and I never open random

attachments. However, I was told that occ. a virus will attach to a

link so when you , you can get it.<<

You are very lucky. See my log displayed below...

>>None of the other lists that I am on is currently showing a virus.

I thought it was possible for list owners to refuse attachments. If

so, would that not help here? Max <<

Nor are any of my other lists showing viruses.

Obviously, attachments can be both positive and negative. I'm not the

list owner, but I prefer to use them for the benefit they offer.

I sent a note to the listowner address this morning asking that the list

settings be changed to not allow attachments. Perhaps if others do the same,

it would help.

Also, please keep in mind with the Klez worm, it grabs addresses from the

infected computer's system to use as the purported "sender," so the person

you think is sending the virus may not be the one whose system is infected.

My friend just got this out of her system, so to speak. A friend of hers had the virus and it sent itself out in my friends name. The list owner also needs to delete all these infected messages from the archives so those reading on the web don't open it.

Peace and Harmony,

Sherri

Attachments do not go out in digests. It seems to be the

way work.

I've been on this list quite a while and there has never

been a list owner present. Notice the addresses at the

bottom of each message. There was onelist which became

, which later became . That was quite a

while ago! It seems it is up to us to manage ourselves

here.

Love your sig line :)
