raw food diet is one very important step to

excellent health. But it is not a magic bullet... there are

none. You have to do other things at the same time.

Here is my list. Feel free to add to or comment on

what I have listed.

CLEAN AIR: I read that 94%

of what the body needs for nutrition comes from the

air we breathe. We can live for weeks without food,

for days without water, but only minutes with out

OXYGEN. Your body needs clean air so STOP SMOKING! Keep

your enviromental air clean.

CLEAN WATER: I

drink only home distilled water.

RAW FOODS: Eat

them the way they were made. You need the enzymes,

vitamins and minerals at their peak. Also, heat can alter

the protein structure of food. EAT ORGANIC as much as

you are able.

DRINK FRESH FRUIT AND VEGETABLE

JUICES: Buy a Champion, Greenpower or Norwalk juicer and

start making your own healthy juices. I would only

juice ORGANIC produce. Besides carrots you can add

greens, tomato, beets, celery, apple, garlic, ginger,

brocolli, cabbage. The combos are endless. Yes, fiber is

important and so I like the saying " Juice your vegetables

and eat your fruit " . Fruit juices are great but don't

overdue them. Buy a good book on juicing. There are lots

of them at the bookstores.

PRACTICE GOOD FOOD

COMBINING: Some foods do not go well with other foods and

should therefore not be eaten at the same meal. Melons

should be " eaten alone or left alone " . Most healthy

cookbooks have a chapter on food combining.

FOLLOW

YOUR BODIES CYCLES: I read long ago that your body has

3 major cycles it goes though each day. It goes

something like this:
12-8pm digestion
8pm-4am

assimulation
4am-12pm elimination
Basically, when you eat

your body HAS TO go into digestion mode because it

can't just leave the food sit in your stomach. If you

have a big breakfast in the morning you force the body

into digestion mode and out of elimination mode. Well

a shortened elimination mode is just not good as

you can imagine. And if you eat a big meal every few

hours day and night you will never allow your body to

assimulate what you eat nor eliminate body waste. I venture

to say a lot of people have bowel problems and get

cancer because they are eating too much and too

often.

REST: 6-8 hours daily. I understand that each hour

slept BEFORE midnight is worth two hours slept AFTER.

So " early to bed, early to rise... " is very

true.

AEROBIC EXERCISE: Try to walk, swim, bike, etc for at

least 20 minutes every day. I just started using a

" rebounder " (small trampoline). Don't forget to

stretch.

RESISTANCE EXERCISE: If you are able do some weight

training, pushups, etc to build muscle. Muscle tissue burns

calories and gives you a better metabolism. I have a set

of dumbells and a bench. You can do a lot with them

and they are inexpensive.

STRESS REDUCTION:

Yoga, meditation, sit quietly and breathe deeply for a

few minutes each day.

SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT:

Know what you believe. Know why you believe it. Learn

more and reach out to help others. Get involved. Share

what you believe with others. It's a " dying " world out

there and people are hurting. Just because you are born

in a certain religion doesn't mean you have to stay

there! You should want the TRUTH and be SEEKING it. All

roads DO NOT lead to the TRUTH so be careful in what

you believe and practice. You may be going down the

wrong path your entire life!

ENJOY YOUR WORK: I

know it isn't easy but TRY to enjoy the work you have

now... and if you just can not then consider changing

jobs. If you don't believe in what you are doing... if

what you do goes against your morals... get out and do

something else.

Comments and/or

additions?

-OrionsDad
