Guest guest
read the article you referenced, very interesting. For a related story, take a look at www.foxbghsuit.com

The article you referenced highlights the well-known fact that the US government buys up surplus milk products, has for years. What annoys me is the agribusiness company, Monsanto, developed a synthesized bovine growth hormone, BGH or rBST - same thing, and introduced it to a market that already produces a surplus. Our US FDA approved this drug.

It is supposed to increase milk production 15% or so. I guess thats one reason they launched the " got milk " campaign to try and mop up the excess. Unfortunately the synthetic hormone also increases the incidence of mastitis (infection of the poor cows' udders) which causes farmers to use increased use of antibiotics. What a vicious cycle and unforgivable given there was already a surplus.

All of this and more is detailed in a book called: Milk, the Deadly Poison by Robert Cohen for anyone interested. I would only recommend reading it for those who are open minded enough to consider the possibility of giving up milk. Because, if you read it, you will find it difficult to enjoy that next glass of milk.

That's one small reason I joined the Raw Foods Club. Here you promote good old unadulterated raw fruits and vegetables (don't be too complacent though, I've also read Monsanto has developed genetically engineered vegetables that are resistant to its (Monsanto's) own herbicides!)

Best stick with organic!!!
