Guest guest
Jaminielove_98,

I understand what you are saying and I’m glad that YOU are benefiting from your mostly raw diet.

I personally do not put much faith in what the so-called experts are saying and that includes the nutritionalists and dietitians. They are schooled to think a certain way and that is fine but that doesn’t make it correct for me or anyone else. I want to put my faith in the truth and not in authority. The truth in health and diet is what we should be seeking regardless of where the truth comes from—even if it doesn’t come from the establishment. Remember that the food menus at both hospitals and schools are designed by dietitians and that, my friend, is nothing to be proud of.

Here is a bit of truth to think about—EVERY living creature that EVER lived from the beginning of time until now eats EVERY bit of food RAW (not cooked) with the sole exception of humans. In the animal kingdom WE are sole experimenters of eating cooked foods. Other than the good taste of cooked foods the benefits of our overindulgence is debatable.

Now there are many people who are not overly concerned about their health. They are smoking, drinking, not exercising and eating any and everything that doesn’t kill them the next moment. What I’m saying here is of no concern to them because health is not one of their priorities in life. People have the right to eat anyway they see fit, of course, but that doesn’t mean that there are many truths—one for each of us. People eat for different reasons-- some for health, some for pleasure and others for both.

For those people who do have health as a priority I contend that we are living in an orderly universe that is governed by laws. There are physical laws, spiritual laws, and laws of “life”. We all can break these laws… for a price. Go break the law of gravity by jumping off a tall building and see how far you get. The law of gravity rules whether you understand it or even believe in it. Go do “bad” spiritual things in your life. You might have to wait longer for the repercussions but you will… sooner or later. It’s the same thing with the laws of “life”. In order for us to have excellent health we have to give the body what it needs. Go hold your breath for about ½ hour and see what happens. Can anyone argue that our body doesn’t need air and the oxygen it contains? Go without water for a month and see what happens. Can anyone argue that our body doesn’t need water to carry out its functions? The same can be said about rest, exercise and food. Our health is directly proportional to our ability to provide our body with what it needs. If you fail to provide what your body needs to live you will get progressively sick and eventually die because of it. Guest guest
I believe that the raw food lifestyle is the best for your body and you should strive to eat as much raw as you can, but I believe that a little bit cooked food wont kill you. Personally I do like cooked food like warm soups in the winter sometimes and I believe there is nothing wrong with that. I believe it is important to listen to your body. It knows what it is best for it. I believe eating mostly raw food is best for me. I feel more energetic and my mind is much clearer:)
I am now only about 40-50% raw at this point but I plan on becomming about 85% soon like i was before. I got a great raw food recipie book that I cant wait to try:) I will be posting some recipies from it when i make them.
It is important to eat mostly fruits and veggies in your diet but if you want to eat cooked food once in a while and feel that your body can handle that then i say there is nothing wrong with that. Our bodies are amaising and can handle that. If they werent then we would all be dead at this point.
I wish you much success with the raw foods lifestyle though because it is not only the supperior diet for our bodies but for the environment as well. You use less resources and your produce very little trash on this type on lifestyle so it saves the fragile ecosystem.
There is nothing wrong with having some cooked food as long as your diet cosists of mostly raw fruits and veggies, I believe. It is better for you and the environment. I will be posting some great raw food recipies soon. They are so creative unlike any recipies that i have ever seen.
I wish you all the best and much happiness:)

Guest guest
You know what? I became a vegetarian at age 12 and everyone kept on telling me the same thing that you just said. I resurched a lot about nutrition at a young age and I found out that the myth about protien is just that, a myth.Where do you get your protien you say? You can get protien from consuming large amounts of raw food, yes like bananas and nuts. Protien in animal products are very hard for the body to digest. No, it is not impossible but the digestion of animal flesh wipes out energy from your body leaving you tired. People shouldnt be concerned about getting to little protien, they should be concerned about the opposite, getting too much protien. When you eat lots of dairy and animal products all of that protien is one of the main causes in osteoperosis because excess protien wipes the calcium in the body.
Our bodies are not designed to eat animal protien. Just look at out teeth for instance. We dont have knife like incisers to rip flesh be have flat like teeth to chew our food. And if we were made to eat animals we would salivate to the thought of killing an animal and eating it raw because that is the way they do it in the wild. Kill and eat their prey raw. Now the thought of me killing and aninimal and eating its raw flesh like a meat eating animal discusts me.
So in responce to your question. You can get all the protien you need if you have a raw food lifestyle and you get better quality protien because it is more easilly absorbed.
No, i am not a certified nutritionist but I have read a lot of books by PHds and nutritionalist that conferm this. I believe also that this make the most scence.
Two great books I reccomend are May All Be Fed by John Robbins and Fit For Life by Harvy Diamond. They are Excellent books that are educational in Nutrition and they have info on meat and dairy and why they are not good for you at all. Both are a must read:) I became a vegetarian after I read May All Be Fed at age 12 and I think if you read it it will convince you to do the same:)
