Guest guest
Thanks Ali, I think I might see if I can track a shop down that sells them, maybe have a chat with someone who sells them.....there are just too many to choose from on the web!
One other question, Mark has decided to join me in a couple of 'raw only' days at the end of the month. His fav. desert of all time is ice cream, any ideas for a good recipie as I'd really like to impress him!
Thanks again,
Love,
Dee
Guest guest
Go to " www.living-foods.com " . There is a recipe section with many amazing deserts... as well as all other meals. There are a few for ice cream. Hope this helps.
Guest guest
If you buy a champion juicer you can run frozen bananas with other frozen fruit through it and it's really close to ice cream in texture. I love it.

Or you can use a food processor. When I do the food processor I do need to add just a tiny bit of liquid (water, juice) to get a smooth consistency like ice cream.

It's quick and easy, eat it right away.

Ali

Guest guest
Hi, I am interested in seeing what all your views are on fasting? I've never been a big fan of it - apart from the fact I almost die each time I try it... *L* I mean from hunger - not physically. I've always struggled with my weight, and seem to eat even more on the few occasions I have tried this. I find if I have an all-fruit day, then I feel that I could really fly. Its the one part of the NH way that I really stick too. I just love fruit or smoothies in the morning, it makes the day so much easier. Some times I bomb out towards the end of the day though. We don't have a lot of variety in our fruit here at the moment, with it being the middle of the winter, and the other stuff costs a small fortune. I felt really mean having 'out of season' fruit in the house, and then having to tell the kids its just for me! We can't afford to buy enough of it for the whole family, so its easier if we don't get it. Hate telling the kids they can't have fruit! One big plus in our household over the last 3/4 months, is I have stopped buying drinks for the kids, and they now drink water all the time. They don't moan about it any more and actually enjoy having it.

Catch you's later on, would really like it if you all did give me your thoughts on the fasting. Goodluck and have a great day all.

Avis
Guest guest
Hi Avis, just to say I know EXACTLY what you mean about the fruit.....a couple of punnets of strawberries don't usually survive long in our house once the kids find them!....even apples have a short kitchen life here. I haven't a clue what the answer is but I've considered taking the kids along to a 'PYO' (pick your own...do you have them over there in the summer?) where is should work out cheaper and they can 'eat as they pick'!
As for this fasting thing....I'm not sure (I'm new here too) By the end of the day I feel so weak and irritable...especially with the kids if they complain they don't like some thing I've painstakingly prepared for dinner.
I should add I've got some weight to lose but I've heard mixed reports on using fasting for weight loss. One thing I'm sure of is that the people on this club will know from first hand experience and are in a great position to help.....er except me that is!
Anyway, all the best...please send me all your best weight-loss tips!
Dee. Guest guest
I have had success when I followed a fast w/ a low cal diet; otherwise, it can and has often resulted in a weight gain. I refer to 5-7 day fasts. They are good to give me a vacation or to get off of a plateau. I have also had less trouble w/my weight when I have fasted one day per week for a year or more. I truly enjoy fasting w/fresh juices, both vegetable and fruit.
