Guest guest
Hi, I've read in several " raw " books where your sleeping requirements will definitely change after going raw. You won't require nearly the sleep you do on a cooked diet. I've been 100% raw for just under a month and unfortunately, I haven't noticed much of a difference. Actually, I'm sleeping MORE but I'm still going through the detox process. The only adverse effect I've felt so far is fatigue. I have moments of energy, but also moments of fatigue. I would suspect after a little more time, the fatigue will be gone and I'll have an abundance of energy. It could be another week or another month. Everyone detoxifies at different rates and at different intensities. All I know is, I'm looking forward to having energy that lasts all day, with less sleep requirements at night. Guest guest
What was your diet like before beginning the raw foods diet? I went 100% after being vegan for about 8 months (Prior to that Lacto-ovo veg for 6 years). My detox process didn't last very long and after it started to subside, I noticed that I only needed 4 to 6 hours of sleep. Keep with it I know you will see the difference. I did. Guest guest
Well actually I am just vegan right now. I've been vegan for 6 months and ovo-lacto for maybe 4 years before that. Now I try to eat raw as much as possible and I'm slowly increasing my intake of raw food. For example I try always to eat raw for dinner. Is an apple + banana + seeds make a decent meal?
I was soooo glad to hear we need less sleeping hours when we are 100% that is what my brain will mainly focus on to convince myself doing the big change asap....
Mathilde
Guest guest
Hi there. Just before going raw, I was eating about 60% raw but was eating cooked chicken and fish too. I was a hard core vegetarian for 8 years until I foolishy read and believed those high protein, low carb diet books. I went back to eating fish and fowl for about 2 years after believing those idiotic books but I'm now all raw, vegan (28 days). I know the energy will come back and has already started to do so. I feel pretty darn good but still go to bed around 8:30 or 9. I know that'll get better too. How long have you been all raw?

Thanks for your encouragement :-)
Guest guest
I try to have my diet be 70-100% raw but find myself sometimes slipping away. I do notice a tremendious energy difference when I commit to it and when I go back to eating cooked foods I get really sluggish. I also had a really bad cough(still have a little bit of it) and I also notice whenever I eat a lot off cooked foods my caugh comes back and gets really annoying. So over all I feel good on the diet even though sometimes durring the Fall and Winter months I sometimes feel deprived because I get use to eating lots of in season fruits and veggies in the summer and then when Fall and Winter rolls around there is less available in season produce. I tend to eat more cooked foods in the Winter than any time of the year which is not good. This year though I am going to really try to commit and not fall for the holliday trap.
I have been off and on the raw foods lifestyle for about little over a year, but never committed to 100% yet.
