Guest guest
I was thinking the other day about an experiance that happened to me years ago, and since no one is posting right now, I thought I would waste some space and tell you about it. I was living on another island, Oahu, where Honolulu is. I new that people drive along in there cars eating Avocados, and throw the pits out the window, which grow more trees that produce more Avocados. But everyone knows about all the best of these trees and no fruit can be found. Oahu is very populated. So I decided I needed to find trees no one knew about. I went to the library and looked at old road maps from the '30s and compared them to recent maps. I found places where roads had been straightened and the old curves blocked off, grown over with jungle, and forgotten about. The first one I explored, near my home, I found a grove of not onley Avocado trees laden with fruit, but with several species of Avocado (which I later found out) produced Avos all year long. I believe this experiance touched something primal in me. I would day dream about this place all day long, I would dream of it at night. I would go there every chance I had, sometimes just to be there. When I was there I would feel a sense of peace and belonging as if I had found my true home. To this day I have the same feelings for that place as I have for a lost lover.

Doug

Guest guest
This story reminds me of romping through the woods every summer looking for the berry patches off the beaten paths. Treasures, each one of them.
