Guest guest
hey everyone. i've been playing with the idea of going raw for a year. i've been vegetarian all my life(i'm 21). my main reason for looking at a raw diet is to lose weight. i'm female, 5'8 " and 155. i would like to see my weight closer to my low of 115. i also know i have an addiction to breads and dairy. an addiction to anything isn't good. so i though i'd kill two birds with one stone and go raw. i need to see some drastic changes in my weight and soon--it's making me depressed and i want to be happy!!

anyway, i'm glad i found you all and i would really apprieciate any tips you have for me. i know detox will be rough but i've fasted before so this can't be much worse.

t. Guest guest
It's much easier than fasting. Because you can still eat. And you can find great replacements for most of the tastes and textures you are used to.

Come back to the board whenever you have a question or a doubt and I'm sure the members will try to help you out.

Plus you can virtually eat as much as you want and you will lose weight. The body will use this time to detox and replace the cells that were produced with cooked foods. All raw foodists experience a weight loss at first. Later a normal weight will come back.

Roger Haeske

Unleash your Imaginative Powers to live a Magical Life. Guest guest
Hi Foreverthin2001,

It’s great to read an enthusiastic post such as yours.

You’ve taken that first step in the right direction to reach your goal.

Do you have any good books on raw food as a diet? Here are a few that I just pulled from my shelf that you might want to consider purchasing. They are all very good and there are certainly others out there.

“Fit for Life” (not Fit for Life II) by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond

“The Original Natural Hygiene Weight Loss Diet Book” by Herbert Shelton

“The Raw Life” by Paul Nison

Optional:
“Twenty-One Days to Health: The Hallelujah Diet Way” by Chet Day

All of these books will provide much knowledge and encouragement for you AND they will help to take your mind off of “bread and dairy” foods.

I was 215 lbs when I started my raw diet program. Within six months I was 170 lbs. I wasn’t even trying to lose weight! I now maintain my weight at 180 lbs with no effort.

In addition to your raw food diet remember that EXERCISE and REST will play a key role in your success towards your goal of losing weight. All of the books will explain in detail for you.

Let us know how you are doing.

Regards,
OrionsDad
Guest guest
My book has also introduced thousands to the raw food path (its sold nearly 5000 copies) called AWAKENING OUR SELF HEALING BODY. If you'd like information, e-mail me at artbaker1 or you can read reviews on amazon (but it of you order it through me, you'll receive it much faster).

Arthur Baker
Self Health Care Systems
www.HealthCreation.net
Guest guest
I concur Arthur. Your book is a great resource especially with all these Anthrax threats. I got your book several years back. I spoke to you several times over the phone when I was thinking of doing the Natural Hygiene course. At the time I was not ready to go 100% raw.

Thank goodness I think I've finally figured it out with the help of many people including yourself.

I also think your book has the best and most complete evidence showing that humans are not carnivores, omnivores, or herbivores but rather frugivores.

Nice to know you post here Arthur.

Roger Haeske

Unleash your Imaginative Powers to live a Magical Life. Guest guest
You might find the " Fit for Life " book in the library but I doubt the other four.

Keep an eye out at garage sales. I've picked up extra copies for as little as 25 cents to give out. It's worth a lot more than that.

Also, check http://www.half.com for these titles. You can save money.

Yes, I should have mentioned Art's " AWAKENING OUR SELF HEALING BODY " . It was my first introduction to Natural Hygiene as well.

-OrionsDad
