I am really sick.... I mean REALLY sick.

Miserable. I have so much sinus pressure it feels like there

in a boulder on my head. I have been trying to get

rid of it naturally. With a lot of rest... etc... but

I am just cannot do anything with my day and I

cannot sleep either due to not being able to breathe.

What can I do to help. I don't have dairy or

meat...... So I have no clue where all this mucus is coming

from! Does anyone have some advice for me? I would sure

love to hear any suggestions! Thanks, Amy

This is what we as living foodists are doing. Or

should be doing, is getting rid of mucus. Mucus comes

from eating mucus forming food, like bread, pasta, and

anything made from seeds, (grains, seeds, nuts, etc). Your

body is detoxifying, trying to get rid of an overload

of mucus. They call it a cold or flue, but this is

what it is. Remember how miserable you feel now, and

when you go raw, you will never feel this way again.

Good luck.

Doug

In an old book about raw foods by estes (1920's I

think) he makes a reccommendation using lemon juice to

deal with it.

For the throat, it said to put

several drops of lemon juice on a spoon and toss it on

the back of the throat, and to try dealing with the

nose because it would also deal with throat and ears.

I didn't really notice any difference with the

spoon thing.

For nose stuff, he said to mix one

drop of lemon juice with a drop of water, lay back and

let it run down a nostril, then repeat with the other

one.

This hurt! But... it did temporarily

clear the nostrils, and I could tell exactly where it

was working as it progressed down the throat.

I dunno if diluting it more would make it less

sore, or if that was just my nose protesting having

liquid in it period.

Anyway, hope ya feel better

in any case!

Make juice using fresh ginger root as one of the

ingredients. Use just a little, maybe 1/4 inch for several

cups. Ginger goes well with carrots, spinach, celery.

Run the ginger through first then the spinach then

the celery and finally the carrots. 3 glasses per

day.

Amy,

Here's things to try to relieve the

sinus pressure so you can go to sleep.

1. Hot

moist towel compress over your eyes and

forehead.

2. Hot shower with the water spray directly in your

face around your closed eyes. Cup the water with your

hands so the water stays on your face. Breathe in the

warm steam. Stay in the shower until you feel the

pressure lessen (perhaps 20 minutes). You will likely be

able to go to sleep right after the shower.

3.

Heat up a large pot of water with a pleasant oil for

fragrance and breathe it in with a towel over your head and

the pot.

-Orionsdad

Amy

The jargon you need for this condition

is sinusitis. I put it into Copernic and found

several hundred sites to deal with the problem but no

doubt would do you a good service. Skimming

through what I saw, garlic scores points. Also I think

there are different causes hence various solutions.

Your problem will be simplified if you can find the

rooyt cause.

Hope this helps

Peter
