Guest guest
it's crunch time. i have my BFA show march 30th. this is a HUGE deal for art students, for seniors. over 4,000+ people
from across the country come to see it. it's like a big interview, it HAS to be great. anyway, i'm using my obsession with
my body and my weight as a theme...i'm taking pics of myself every day and writing my weight on my stomach. later i will
copy the image onto used bathroom scales. they will all be hung on the wall in a grid pattern. but here's the problem:

I HAVE TO GET SKINNY FAST. the show is in less than two months and for the idea to be effective in expressing my
battle with anorexia i can't just be a fat girl the whole way through. to get a dramatic reaction, i have to show a dramatic
transformation. i'm STILL 5'8 and 150-153. regular restricting just isn't working, i need something extreme. can you all
post the fastest way you lost weight?!! i am begging you for your help here. this isn't just about my self esteem now, it's
about my future, my reputation. if this show flops so do i. ideally i'd like to get down to 100 pounds but i'm not sure if
that's possible. i've thought about fasting-just diet pop and water. thoughts???

please write back!
thank you:)
tai
Guest guest
I believe you've gotten quite alot of advice on this list. I have given mine. This is a list for being healthy and eating raw and if you lose weight, fine. Being 100 lbs. at your height doesn't sound healthy to me. Just my 2 cents' worth.
Marlene
Guest guest
Hello tai,

I must say I disagree with your " fat girl " image of yourself, and if you're anorexic, you probably don't see the real you in the mirror. I am 5'3 " and about 125lbs, and I am thin. You are 5 inches taller and 25lbs heavier. 5 lbs per inch--that sounds very natural. I'm guessing you are a pretty nice-looking girl.

But you seem to want to do this, so good luck. I just hope I'm wrong, because if I'm right, you may get down to 115 and still see a " fat girl " in the mirror.

What I was doing for almost 3 days was melting inches off my waist and I'm sure it would have melted off of other parts of me if I'd stuck to it. So--do you have willpower about eating? Are you okay with feeling a little weak? If the answer is yes, then I bet I have the miracle diet for you.

Morning--eat exclusively fruit and fruit juice. Get your juice from a natural foods store or better yet, juice your own fruit. The sugary processed stuff will probably not work. Eat a banana, an orange, an apple and two glasses of juice through the morning. Eat another one of something if you're still hungry. Eat other fruits if you have other favorites.

Afternoon--for lunch eat a big plate of spinach (buy the prewashed in a bag--it's easier) with sprouts and something else to spice it up--onions, radishes, red peppers or something. Eat two plates of it if you want. For afternoon snacks, get a bag of baby carrots, cut up some celery, eat some sprouted beans if you can find them at the natural foods store. Eat as much carrots & celery as you want. Eat another banana at around 4pm, when that SAD sweets craving hits.

Dinner--eat at least one avocado, a handful of sunflower seeds if you like, and feel free to use about a teaspoon of olive oil in your food preparation. Eat broccoli, peppers, cauliflower--any veggies you want. If you need salt, sprinkle a little tamari (soy sauce) or Braggs liquid aminos on your veggies. If you're a cook, you can try something fancy like making a raw tomato sauce or avocado sushi rolls (no rice), but if you don't cook, just fill up on tons of raw veggies. Don't eat fruit at this time, but you can have another piece of fruit near bedtime if you're starving.

Go for a walk after dinner--it doesn't have to be a huge workout, just move around. Go to sleep earlier if you feel sleepy; I needed more sleep on this diet.

I think black coffee would be a good deterrant from going back to hot food, if you're just doing this for weight loss and not health reasons. Try drinking a cup of black coffee if your cravings get unbearable.

I bet if you did this for a month or even two weeks, you would see a significant difference. In two days, you should see your belly looking flatter, but if you need concrete results, I would measure it before and after the two days, so you can know it's true.

This wasn't a sustainable diet for me, but then I didn't want to lose weight. I wouldn't recommend it for long term, but it would be a fairly healthy alternative for losing weight (better than fasting or Atkins.)

Hope this helps.

Carol
Guest guest
I would seriously reconsider drinking diet pop. First, it isn't raw and second, the aspartame in it is not healthy (putting it lightly). I'm with Marlene on this one. This list is about being healthy and eating raw. It isn't the latest diet fad.
Arizona
Guest guest
thanks for the advice. i know i don't sound heavy but fat weighs less than muscle-i have quite a tummy right now and the thighs are a but large too. this is not body dysmorphia, i know when i look skinny. 125 is probably my ideal weight but i shoot for 115 just to get me there faster. i've fasted for the past two days and have lost weight but i'm not sure i can do this for a long time. i apprieciate all the help everyone on this board has given me, just realize that this is hard for me. i tend to eat like it's all or nothing. i starve or i binge. attempting raw is like a middle ground for me and that's tough right now. so i'm sorry if i continually ask for help but i'm human and have fallen off the wagon a few times. thanks to those of you who have offered their advice- it means a lot.

tai
Guest guest
Easy solution. If you are an all or nothing type. Why don't you simply eat all raw food only? That is a 100% commitment. It's much easier to do than trying to maintain an 80% raw diet.

When you go 100% raw you will lose weight. I have yet to meet anyone in person, who went raw and didn't lose weight. If you ever go to a raw food support group meeting you will see many skinny people who are just transitioning to the raw diet. After time you are supposed to level off to a good normal weight.

I wasn't trying to lose a pound, but I lost 14 pounds. Raw eating melts away the toxic fat in your body. Even if you eat a decent amount of raw fats like I do or did, you still end up losing weight. I eat plenty of calories and eat till I am full.

So go gung ho and eat 100% raw. It's the most natural and nutritious way to lose weight. You'll feel totally satisfied and lose excess fat. Plus you'll be happier, healthier and have more energy.

Roger Haeske

P.S.
