My wife and I have been almost 100% raw for 6

months now, and one of the side effects, is she keeps

biting her tongue, cheek and lip. It has happened to me

a few times also, but she is really plagued with

it, and it's only been happening since we went all

raw. She thinks going back to cooked food will

alleviate this problem.

Anyone else ever had a

problem like this, or know what causes it, or what a

possible remedy might be?

Thank You

Wow! I never thought I would meet anyone else

with this problem, or that it might be linked to going

raw! However, this could be from being tired. I

thought it was from the fatigue of detoxifying and am

getting more sleep and it seems to help. I do know it is

not good to constantly irritate the tongue in one

place because it can induce unwanted changes in the

cells there. If your tongue does not 'heal', put some

aloe juice in your mouth to help it.

Sue

Strange. I had a mild dose of it in early 100%

raw days but it passed. Ithough it had a lot to do

with setting the brain up for the human occupation of

heavy munching. Lets hope the same happens for you and

it all passes away.

PG

I went through mouth biting also. I had no idea

it had anything to do with eating raw? How strange.

It will pass though, mine did. I was ridiculous, I

would do it 2 or 3 times in one meal. I finaly just

started concentrating more on chewing, and it passed. I

wonder if it is because we chew raw food diferently than

cooked food?

Doug.

I've always chewed the inside of my mouth--as well as my lips, fingernails and

skin around my fingernails--for as long as I can remember. Does that mean I'm a

raw foodist waiting to get out? :)
