Guest guest
Hi Chris, How old is your son? Maybe if you searched on Chery Stoycoff or Hygeia Halfmoon you could find out more. I don't know if an infant can digest nut milks (and you need a pretty powerful blender/juicer to get them liquid). Let us know. Sue
Guest guest
Thanks Sue, forgot to mention that he'll be four in May, he could digest nut milks. Guest guest
Marlene, thanks, please sent it. The issue is does it have enough calories? The doctors and dietician want him on a 'complete liquid nutrition' out of a can product- Pediasure. It has 237 cal per 8oz, and 32 vitamins and minerals, and maltodextrin as its main ingredient. I'm looking for alternatives and appreciate any help since I'm not getting any from the 'establishment'! Thanks chris. > > I have a recipe for almond milk. Guest guest
Chris You can get a lot of calories from fruit but it is not a good idea to mix fruit and vegetables. i.e. leave a few hours between them. The banana has heaps of useful calories but you need to mix in other fruit such as apple to stop the juicer from choking up. More or less any fruit can be thrown in but it is important to drink as soon as it is made. Food values go down by the minute when juice is stored. I am sure lots of other ideas will be contributed. Your approach sounds right to me. PG woggamamma [woggamamma] 10 March 2002 10:25 rawfood [Raw Food] G-tube raw diet? Hello everyone, I have a son with cerebral palsy and he has difficulty getting enough calories, he's recently needed a naso gastric tube for fluid and is heading towards a gastrostomy tube for calories too. Does anone know of a way to suppliment the diet with calories in a liquid form. The only option I know is suppliments that contain maltodextrins etc etc, want to steer well clear of that crap if possible, milk doesn't contain enough calories- he currently has rice milk, is lactose intolerant too. Thanks for any help, chris.
Guest guest
I don't think you need to juice bananas. You can simply put them in a blender and add water. The thinner you want it the more water you add. An excellent overall tool is a Vitamix. I have one and use it several times a day. It is so powerful you can make whole food juices. That way you have the fiber as well or the whole food, not just the juice. You can put in carrots and apples and add water and make a whole food juice. This actually has many more nutrients this way and you get the fiber. It's also quite filling. This won't work with a regular blender. You need a Vitamix or other blender that has plenty of power in it. Go to www.vitamix.com or to this page to learn more. I just found a cheap blender that seems powerful enough to do the trick. http://www.discountjuicers.com/juicemanblender.html Or check this out http://www.discountjuicers.com/champblender.html Good Luck, Roger Haeske http://www.superbeing.com rawfood, <petergardiner@e...> wrote: > Chris > > You can get a lot of calories from fruit but it is not > a good idea to mix fruit and vegetables. i.e. > leave a few hours between them. > > The banana has heaps of useful calories but you need to > mix in other fruit such as apple to stop the juicer from > choking up. Guest guest
You must check out Mannatech.com about their products which we take in our house. These are based on glyconutrients, basic biochemistry that states there are eight essential simple sugars that every body needs for cells to function and rebuild. Mannatech has developed a way to extract and distribute these sugars without oxidation or loss of potency. Please read the info, see the testimonials, and contact me for further info. They saved my partner's life! I know they can help you family too. -Chris
