Guest guest
I am getting bombarded with people telling me I am radical and obviously not healthy for eating raw food. I actually got an email from a woman who is quite close to me and this is what she wrote... " I read your raw food diary. I am very worried about you. Every thing you described, the feeling of numbness, lethargy, sore muscles, all the symptoms of the flu, are symptoms of herpes type 1. The fact that you have 5 of those sores in your mouth all together that is that painful, causes me to worry. My best friend was just diagnosed with herpes, and I didn't know anything about it, and I didn't know how to help her, so I went and did alot of research on the subject. Everything you described is a herpes symptom. " I know that all my symptoms are detox because I didn't get them until I started doing raw foods... Anyone else go through something similar to this when they started eating this way? Thanks, Amy

Thanks, Amy Eating raw has never caused any canker sores for me (or herpes). Canker sores are a deficiency in lycine, found in high protein foods. Eating raw is very healthy, is not radical in my opinion. When I began eating mostly raw, one of my friends told me that it wasn't healthy to eat raw. After she was told by a " professional " that eating raw was healthier than cooked, now she believes raw is healthier. I hate it when people don't believe me. Follow your instincts girl and you will be fine. I have never been completely raw either, but I would try to amino acids if I were you. I am very interested in it, but I went to some bulletin boards yesterday and saw a post by someone who tried eating raw and felt worse. This person had CFS. I don't really know what this person was eating, so maybe he or she was eating unbalanced, but it kind of scared me. I still want to try it or at least try incorporating more raw foods into my diet and see how I feel. I know all about detoxifying, but I feel that is someone is bedridden due to detoxing, then that person must be detoxing too quickly.
