Given that the only species that gets two sets of teeth

in life is our own, I can guess that the problem of

rotting teeth has been around for a long time.

Should a raw food diet have any implications for dental

health?

Peter, I believe most and

possibly all mammals have

" milk teeth " that are replaced

with an adult set. Anyone who

has lived with a baby kitten

or puppy will remember that

chewy stage where nothing is

safe from the teething animal!

I've read numerous testimonies

of improvement of gum problems

after a time on a raw diet at

the Hallelujah Acres site

(www.hacres.com) and on other

sites. I'm hoping to find

some improvement of my own

teeth and gums when I return

to the dentist next week.

Lauretta & Peter,

I can't agree more with Lauretta. I'm familiar with Hallelujah

Acres. Rotting teeth are nothing more than a sick body internally.

The body works from the inside out and if the inside is unclean, it

will surface itself via teeth, skin, hair, etc.

I began a 95% raw food diet with juice therapy about a year ago and I

can't tell you enough of how great it is. My body is healing many

illnesses-I'm almost completely off thyroid medication!

The people I know with teeth problems all have many other internal

problems. Even poor genetics can be reversed with a raw food

program. It's another one God's amazing gifts to us.

I would be interested in hearing more about your thyroid

experience. Armour Thyroid is the only medication I am on and I

would love to get my body functioning to the point where I no longer

need it. I am trying to convert to mostly raw food, I guess I'm in

the transition phase. I have already begun to notice differences in

the way I feel, in the way my body reacts to certain foods, and how

some foods taste. At least that's a start! I'm also on the

Hallelujah Diet and enjoy reading the posts there too.

Lately I've felt kind of tired and draggy. Is this part of the

detox? We've also been dealing with a very sick pet poodle and that

has had me under some stress.

Thanks for your info, --Linda

I would also like to hear about your experiences with raw food, juice

therapy and getting off thyroid medication.

I have suffered from fatigue for years and finally found out I was

hypothyroid about 5 years ago. I resisted getting on medication for at

least another 2 or 3 years. With medication I feel somewhat better

(provided the dose is correct), but I really would like to get off of

medication totally.

I'd also be interested in some examples of what you might eat (and

juice) in a given day. I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out what

to eat and how much to eat in order to get enough protein and nutrients.

Do you eat combos of foods and make recipes, or do you rely

predominantly on juices for your nutrition?

What I've basically been doing is eating a few fruits in the morning,

then later in the day I may eat some sprouts and an avocado and about 20

nuts, which have been soaked for about a day. I generally feel hungry

all the time and I haven't felt satisfied. At dinner I've been eating

a cooked food meal and I'm so hungry by then, I tend to eat too much.

Do you find that juicing helps you need to eat less food and helps you

feel more satisfied? Lately I've been feeling like I don't want to

eat vegetables very much. I want something more exciting.

I don't mean to overwhelm you with questions. Don't feel obligated to

answer them all.

I'd be happy to hear some meal plan suggestions from anyone who has

been eating raw for a while and feeling good. Does anyone have food

logs posted anywhere?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Regards,

Sharon
