Guest guest
Back in March of this year I went raw for a few weeks and absolutley loved it! I started getting really sick and found out that it was because I was pregnant and had horrible morning-afternoon-evening sickness. I reverted back to eating cooked foods because it helped to keep the nausea at bay. In fact, the near mention of the word " RAW " sent me to the bathroom puking. Now it is nearing August and I am 5 months (20 weeks) pregnant. I have been eating 99.9% cooked all this time and I feel so sluggish, I am breaking out, and I am depressed. Not to mention I have gained more than my share of weight. The past two months I have been living more off fast food. Pizza with cheese and pepperoni, cheeseburgers, etc.... PLEASE HELP ME! I tried for a little while to have a fruit smoothie for breakfast and every time I have one I get extremley nauseous and light headed! I know this is detox. The only thing that worries me is I don't want to detox so rapidly that it will hurt the baby that is growing in me. On the other hand, I want to be detoxed enough by the end of november to have a clean birth and clean milk to breastfeed her. Any advice anyone could give me would be most wonderful. I would like to make this a 4 month transition from the SAD to at least 80- 90% raw. PLEASE EMAIL ME WITH YOUR SUGGESTIONS AT militarybabe2 Thanks a million again! Guest guest
Hi Amy, I've heard that when you're pregnant is not a good time to detox...but do not think that the SAD is the best thing either. I would find a healthy balance right now...like laying off the junk food and eating a healthy diet based on fruits, veggies, nuts, even fish or whatever once in a while. You could have them cooked and add a bountiful salad everyday. Much luck and much love. Guest guest
Hi Amy, I agree that you should eat a more balanced diet that's healthy, but doesn't detox you too hard. I'd begin by food combining properly. I've attached an article on it. I would also begin to incorporate raw foods slowly. Fruit sends me flying into detox so you may want to begin with one piece of fruit for 2-3 days and increase according to how you feel. I would begin with a raw salad everyday and again increase the raw veggies little by little. Stay away from the most toxic foods like sugar, artificial sweetners, dairy, processed meats and other processed foods. Salad dressings are usually loaded with MSG too. It sounds like you have a very toxic body. Be patient and you'll get to your goal before you know it. This is critical time for your baby's future health. It's a good decision for you to try this now vs. later. femmebabe19 wrote: Back in March of this year I went raw for a few weeks and absolutley loved it! Guest guest
I'm late answering this one too! I've never been completely raw although I try to pay more attention to uncooked foods now that I've learned of the diet. But I know that when I went 100% vegan from being a total meat and dairy person, I went from having colds all winter long to having none or one. And that was even before I started eating more veggies and fruit; at that point it was mostly starches I was subsisting on! So I say, if you can't go raw at this point, you should at least be getting cheeseless veggie lover pizzas instead of cheese and pepperoni. That alone would make you healthier and gain less weight. Good luck! Carol rawfood, " femmebabe19 " <femmebabe19> wrote: > Back in March of this year I went raw for a few weeks and absolutley > loved it!
