Guest guest
Hi all What are your experiences with hair improvement on the raw food lifestyle? I'm sure one's hair will generally look better, but has anyone ever managed to halt/reverse premature greying? Thanks in advance, Manoj www.marketingedgedesigns.com/coverart.html
Guest guest
I believe my number of grey hairs reduced a bit. But I'm not certain. I also know of someone who is starting to grow hair in his bald spot. In general I believe it just slows down the aging process and at first it will reverse your aging. Of course we will still age, as raw food animals age and die as well. What humans are capable of though, you never know. Maybe there is a way for physical immortality. Guest guest
I'm not sure if I have less grey but it seems so. I HAVE noticed that at a time when some women are starting to notice thinning, I have definitely began growing new hair. My hair is very long and one length, but I noticed almost a year ago the appearance of short hairs among the long. Now I have many many hairs about 6 inches long that make hair styling a nightmare but I'm thrilled anyway as it must be just another sign of improved health. Guest guest
Lauretta and Roger, Thanks for your responses, this is very encouraging. I am not very happy with my hair currently greying at what seems to be an accelerated rate and I look forward to any improvement in that. On another note--I'm starting to realise what I will be up against when I start going raw! A couple days back I was chatting to a friend I consider pretty open-minded and casually mentioned what I am planning to do. The way she reacted you'd have thought I was going to renounce society and go live in a tree. 'Oh no, that's just a fad thing! Don't fall for all that nonsense! " Hmm! I think I'm not going to say anything to anyone until I am actually living the benefits, and maybe I should be cautious even then, if this is how people are going to react! Guest guest
Hi Manoj, I would say that cooked food is the fad. Humans have been around for 2 million years. I think we only started having use of fire around 50,000 years ago. So for 97.5% of the time we were eating raw foods. People tend to think just because people have done something for 100 years or so that it is a good thing. It will be easier at first if you don't tell people what you are doing. One of the first times I tried the raw diet I told someone and he managed to put some fright into me because I was experiencing many of the negative side effects that he mentioned. Of course, now that I am doing the diet properly I have none of the problems. It's really quite easy to do. You just have to break some habits and learn to do things in a slightly different way. But within 6 months you get used to it and everything is automatic, requiring no willpower. Roger Haeske Have you tried the Raw Diet many times but failed to stick with it? Guest guest
Hi Roger, Yeah...I guess everyone's so used to feeling like crap and deteriorating slowly most of the time they don't realise that it's the " normal " way we eat that's unnatural. What do you mean by negative side effects--detoxing? Just want to know what to expect. Best Manoj > Hi Manoj, > > I would say that cooked food is the fad. It must vary by the person, their age, former habits, etc. I'm discovering that my mind must be reprogrammed. I was watching TV last night.. it seemed every other commercial was for food.. and the worst kind.. pizza, Taco Bell, Quesadillas, burgers. I'm either going to tape my shows from now on and fast forward through the commercials, or give up commercial TV altogether. Now, if only the Food Network came out with a raw food show! --Art
