Guest guest
I am currently looking to purchase a new blender and would like to spend no more than $150, which leaves the Vita-Mix out of the running, unfortunately. When I am through with my graduate studies, I hope to afford one!! Additionally, I would like to purchase a new food processor, and again I have a cap of $150. Which are your faves? If you could include identifying details (like how many speeds or cup capacity) as opposed to the brand only, that would help me find the specific model you are talking about. Please keep in mind that I am in the US, so any foreign brands would need to be US accessible. I really value your input. Thanks so much!! Guest guest
Hi Angela I have a Juiceman blender that cost about $100. It doesn't have speeds, but it does have power settings such as 50% or 60%, and you can pulse it. It is a lot more powerful than the regular blenders you buy in the local stores. Beware though it can fool you. It is not a Vitamix. I tried to use it like one and the motor burned out on me. Fortunately, the company honored their warranty (even though I never sent in my warranty slip). They replaced it (in about 2 weeks) with a reconditioned one that looks and operates like new. It is also a large capacity blender like the Vitamix. It is advertised as the Juiceman Smoothie, and as being used at Juice Bars commercially. I have a Cuisinart 7 cup food processor. I don't have anything to compare it with but I did a lot or research on the Internet before I bought both of these machines, and Cuisinart got the best reviews and they are the company that invented the food processor. Mine works great! Hope this helps. Guest guest
How 'bout getting a K-Tec http://www.k-tecusa.com/kitcheneticsk2.html and using it both for blending and food processing. I've heard that people like it better than the vitamix, that it's easier to clean, and of course, cheaper. Guest guest
I just bought a Juiceman smoothie maker for $40 at Walmart in the housewares sale items aisle. The original price on the box was $79.It is 2 times a strong as an osterizer blender. I like it for smoothies but for nut milk I should get out my vitamix. The juiceman is just easier to use for everyday smoothies.
