Hi all

Thanks to Doug for the info the article was wuite enlightning! I was

wondering if any of you know about detox and breasfeeding? You see for

two years now I've been reading and learning about raw food, but Ive

been cautioned against doing it completely because Ive been either

breastfeeding, or pregnant or breastfeeding again?? so im always

slipping back into junk food!!! I once reasoned with a rasta sister and

some elders that it is better to detox than to feed the baby crap!! any

ideas much appresiated

I requested the article from Doug but did not receive it. Maybe you

could forward it to me? I am breastfeeding my toddler and we are an

all raw family. The book Primal Mothering in a Modern World by Hygeia

Halfmoon addresses this subject. Check it out. You can get it from

amazon.com or many raw food websites.

Here comes any idea.

On a detox muck comes out of all outlets including skin, nose, hair,

nails but the end of a nipple seems unlikely to me. Conventional

medicine has junk food built in - hence no warning there. Probably safe

to avoid the drastic which must be a high priority in such a

circumstance. Thus my " Any idea " is to ease in slowly to drastic life

style changes.

That's all.

Hi Aymee

Maybe you should try a slow transition to a raw diet. Just

incorporate more and more raw plant foods to your diet every week or

month. This way the detox shouldn't be too sudden and harming to your

baby but you will still both benefit from the healthy foods. Be

sensitive to your feelings as you go on, if you feel detox symptoms

(such as a cold) then slow down, eat some cooked foods (like brown

rice and steamed vegetables) so you won't detox too fast and release

too many toxins.

Hope this is helpful
