Guest guest
My 2-year-old loves ice. I was wondering if there is anything detrimental about my making ice pops using those molds that are customarily filled with juice and giving them to her during these hot summer months. Our outside thermometer read 104 degrees a 5 p.m. today! I give her frozen carrot juice that I put in regular ice cube trays also. Guest guest
Juices need to be consumed within 10 minutes of juicing to obtain all of the original nutrients in the vegetables or fruits in it. rawfood , " Miko (Kobasigawa) Nelson " <miko_nelson@h...> wrote: > My 2-year-old loves ice. Guest guest
What about freezing some grapes? I used to eat these in the summertime a long time ago. Do the nutrients become damaged by the freezing process? - backpackinggirl20012001 rawfood Monday, May 19, 2003 11:57 AM [Raw Food] Re: Ice Pops Juices need to be consumed within 10 minutes of juicing to obtain all of the original nutrients in the vegetables or fruits in it. rawfood , " Miko (Kobasigawa) Nelson " <miko_nelson@h...> wrote: > My 2-year-old loves ice. Guest guest
And this means what when you are talking about freezing? Even the juiceman says if you put your juice in the freezer right away for 30 minutes before putting it in your thermos, it should be of high quality for a mid-morning drink at work. ----Original Message Follows---- backpackinggirl20012001 <no_reply > rawfood rawfood [Raw Food] Re: Ice Pops Mon, 19 May 2003 15:57:41 -0000 Juices need to be consumed within 10 minutes of juicing to obtain all of the original nutrients in the vegetables or fruits in it. rawfood , " Miko (Kobasigawa) Nelson " <miko_nelson@h...> wrote: > My 2-year-old loves ice. Guest guest
I am sorry I have to retract my last source in replying to you. It was actually the Sproutman, Steve Meyerowitz' book Power Juices that my info came from. In any case, I think my practice of freezing my wheatgrass and other juices to save myself the energy of juicing often serves its purpose in my life. I can live with whatever losses might occur. I am losing interest in my juicer right now compared to when I got it at Christmas for some reason also... Anyhow, what I was looking for in the way of feedback was perhaps that the cold aspect of juice cubes or pops was something I might not want to teach my child to desire. Backpack, there's the ideal and then there's " don't do it at all. " So, from you answer, I say, since we talking fresh juice vs. refined sugar pops, it's really no big deal. Also, the lack of urgent responses gives me this impression. Thanks for the imput. rawfood , backpackinggirl20012001 <no_reply> wrote: > Juices need to be consumed within 10 minutes of juicing to obtain all > of the original nutrients in the vegetables or fruits in it. > > rawfood , " Miko (Kobasigawa) Nelson " > <miko_nelson@h...> wrote: > > My 2-year-old loves ice.
