Guest guest
mzdjfly The bad taste is just detoxification. The treatment is to drink more water, pure as you can get it, to wash out the waste. The orange out of the carton will just top up your junk level. There are loads of things to put through the juicer that are better. Guest guest
It's detoxification. The skin is the largest eliminative organ of the body. What's happening through the tongue and the mouth is ketosis. Look for skin eruptions also as the body tries to eliminate toxins. Congratulations, the process is starting. Guest guest
Can someone tell me about how long a detox takes? After my birthday coming up, I'm going to go on a fast to try and clean out all of the toxins I've put into my body. I know I there is a chance I won't feel very well for a while - but I was wondering if anyone knew how long it would take. Thank you, Candace RobGee [robg33] Tuesday, May 27, 2003 7:38 AM rawfood Re: [Raw Food] any suggestions about 14 day fast .. Congratulations, the process is starting. Guest guest
Candace, The answer is about as long as a piece of string. I'd say build up the fasts slowly. Starting with a juice fast for a couple of days and increasing them by a factor of about 2 with ever longer gaps in between and adding a water fast in the middle. For example I would wait at least three months after taking a two week fast. You will want to avoid putting the body into the state where it is constantly preparing for the next famine. I suspect that your birthday party toxins will come out quite quickly. The toxins that entered over the years are another matter. Hope this helps Peter Candace Selph [candace] 27 May 2003 15:04 rawfood RE: [Raw Food] any suggestions about 14 day fast Can someone tell me about how long a detox takes? Guest guest
Thanks Peter! I can't say I've ever really eaten healthy, but with the health issues I'm having I have to do something. I do not know if I will be able to handle staying on a raw diet, but I want to try it for a while to see how I feel. My family are not willing, at this time, to change their diet. So I will be totally on my own. I'm hoping to get as much of the toxins out as I can, and fast for 2 weeks. After that just eat raw for a while and see how that works. I do not see this transition as being easy - so I'm reading everything I can to help me. I appreciate your advice! It varies on how polluted the system is with wrongful diet, prescription drugs etc..It also depends on the individual's present health, age, fitness etc. Just know that many have gone down the road before you and survived, and are waiting to take your hand and guide you along. Welcome to the path. Hari Om Rob
Guest guest
> Can someone tell me about how long a detox takes? - Candace: A complete detox depends upon the sum total of toxins in your body and how long they've been there. If you go on a fast you will reach a de-tox point 5 - 7 days in where you feel symptoms and in a few days that will pass. When that happens you've reached a good plateau and you can ease out of the fast and take stock of how you feel. Then in a few weeks or months you can try again and stretch it just a bit more. 10 days to 2 weeks is as far as you should go without supervision. Try to do at least 4 days on a water fast and then go Master Cleanse or juice if you feel too week. rusty - " Candace Selph " <candace <rawfood > Tuesday, May 27, 2003 6:04 AM RE: [Raw Food] any suggestions about 14 day fast > Can someone tell me about how long a detox takes? Guest guest
Thanks Rusty! One question - what is Master Cleanse? Candace
Guest guest
Candace, If you can get your own house in order that would be a tremendous target. If the people around you are in any way normal they will invoke highly prejudiced nonsense to maintain their habits and so forth. You will simply waste energy and " make a fool of yourself " . I think the best you can achieve is a bit of respect within your group or family. Remember " No man is a hero in his own family " - so if you must lead or teach do it by example leave out the preaching, and just answer the odd question. In two weeks whatever relapses you make, you will feel a significant improvement. So just stay focussed and watch your life change!
