Was talking to another human - a carnivore - and they shared a verse

from the bible...

Romans 14:2

One man's faith permits him to believe he may eat anything, while a

weaker one limits his eating to vegetables.

At first I just merely said - yah know - I admit I'm weak and I see

eating all you eat as completely debilitating to my health - as long

as that's the way I see it, this is how I'm gonna be.

Afterwards upon deeper reflection, I do believe that everything is

simply vibration and that once you truly see everything the same - no

difference between one person and the next, sleeping in a hovel,

sleeping in luxury you're just so in the moment that eating is just

God consuming God it makes no difference.

Just my thought for the day - and then there's the breathairian theory

that once you get it you would just be living off the air.

Interesting moment thought I would share - Jan

Thats a funny quote. I'm sure some meat eaters take comfort in it.

But every person I know who eats " anything " is sitting in the

hospital!

All kidding aside, if they look at other translations and read the

lines around it to put the quote in its context they will realize it

is NOT saying meat eaters are strong and vegetable eaters are weak.

It's in illustration about God's acceptance, faith, fear of eating

" unclean " meat, not condemning others, etc.

And besides... we eat fruits, nuts AND vegetables... not just

vegetables :^> (We really WOULD be weak if all we ate was cooked

veggies!)

I must tell you from personal experience this is a bunch of bunk. I was

a follower of a similar philosophy. I was constantly visualizing and

meditating. Once I changed my diet, my health and mental outlook

improved immediately.

Yes the foods we take in have a vibration. If it is a negative or

depleted vibration we will be a victim of it. Some people simply have

different constitutions and get affected by foods in different ways. But

there is no question that good nutrition is vital to our health. If not

we could just eat chocolate cake all the time and we would feel fine.

But we know this is not the case.

IMO, the scripture is about FAITH not food.

Obviously, vegetables would be considered so harmless and risk-free that a

faithless person could eat them without risk; whereas it would take a person

of great faith to eat meat with abandon.

So, it's not a condemnation of vegetables; it's a comment about faith.

Roger - Shelly-

That was my point. I myself believe that eating raw

foods/fruits/veggies and raw nuts is much healthier than the standard

American Diet.

But I also think Rose is right. If you had huge faith where you were

immersed in the moment aka enlightened, what you ate would make no

difference - chocolate cake would nourish your body as well as a

banana. Because unlike me who sees cake as inferior to the banana, to

the enlightened - it's all God and light - no differences. Only the

ego can perceive differences - without an ego no differences - no

judgements.

Just an interesting thought.....that for me helps me keep this diet in

perspective....Jan

Hi Jan,

That was exactly my point. I don’t care how enlightened you are the food

you eat makes a big difference.

A lovely reply. Context reminds us that we have to assume responsibility!
