Guest guest
Hi Art, Did you drive last year when you went? I did think about flying, but the traveling from the airport to the event seemed like a hassel. I think we know a raw friend from our area. Alissa Cohen, she used to have raw potlucks in Beverly.. I have taken some classes from her, and done some video work with her for her upcoming book. I am so thankful for the Organic Garden in Beverly MA. Nice to get away from the kitchen and have a meal prepaired once in a while. Let me know if you decide to head up the the festival... peace, Jude > Looks like they FINALLY updated it. Hey, Jude (Sorry, I couldn't resist.. I'll bet if you had a nickel for everytime someone said that.... first and last time, I promise.) Yes, I did drive, by myself, no passengers. And I remember meeting people from the Boston area. So, I suggested to one of the organizers (Albert, I think) that there be a ride board on the website. He thought it was a great idea, but it looks like it wasn't implemented. So, I'm thinking of starting a Living Now Festival . I did think about flying, but > the traveling from the airport to the event seemed like a hassel. I don't like to fly, so that's out for me. Train perhaps? Keep in mind you have to carry a tent, sleeping bag, etc.. it's just easier in a car, I think. I think we know a raw friend from our area. Alissa Cohen, she used to > have raw potlucks in Beverly.. We were half of the people that showed up. There were maybe 7 people in all. Alissa stopped doing them after that, and I don't blame her. I am so > thankful for the Organic Garden in Beverly MA. Well, I looked at the updated website and speakers, and I see Doug Graham is going to be one of the speakers. He wasn't there last year. I'd really like to hear him talk, so I'm leaning towards going, now. Not to mention the food was fantastic. Kwatamani's mixed plates were expensive, but very tasty. I really enjoyed the sweat lodge, too. If I do go, I'll probably rent a car. I don't know how much longer I'll have my car for, or how long it will last. My wife's willing to give me her car, but hers is starting to have quirky problems, and has over 140,000 miles on it. Or, I'd be willing to chip in for gas, tolls, etc., with you or someone else. I'm leaning towards going, but I probably won't send in my payment until I return July 9 from vacation. --Art
Guest guest
What kinds of activities are there for children at the festival? I'm contemplating bringing two children ages 8 and 5 and wondering if they will have a good time. Guest guest
Hi Art, Take a bad song and make it better... Yeah I hear that song all the time.. Its a great tune so I don't mind.. The food sounds so yummy!!! I can't wait to go. I was leaning towards renting a car also. Mine has over 170,000 miles on it. That's too bad they didn't get a ride board going, that would have been awesome. I am doing some work for alissa with regards to her email soon, so I am hoping to get out to her extensive list about the festival and seeing if others from this area are going also. I saw Doug speak at the Organic Garden this past winter. Awesome food and Roseline spoke also. Do you remember how long it took you to drive there? I thought about 9 hours, but I was wondering if that was correct. I plan to sign up the begining of July also before the discounted deadline of July 15th. So I'll speak to you around then.. Mine has over 170,000 miles on it. Mine has about 104,000, but it's falling apart. My wife was going to give me her car, but hers has over 140,000. I might buy my friends Honda Accord.. it was well maintained, has 110K, but I know he didn't beat on it. I'd feel safe driving that there. I really wanted a 5 speed, but his car has A/C and cruise control and some other features I like, plus it gets decent gas mileage. Oh, and the asking price is more than fair. > That's too bad they didn't get a ride board going, that would have > been awesome. I haven't announced it yet, but I started a " Living_Now_Festival " , which could be used as a ride board. I need to tell Albert about it.. maybe he can have a link to it from the greensunhealing web page. > I saw Doug speak at the Organic Garden this past winter. Awesome food > and Roseline spoke also. Yeah, I missed it, but should've went. > Do you remember how long it took you to drive there? I thought about > 9 hours, but I was wondering if that was correct. I think it was more like 7 hours.. but I'm not entirely sure. It's basically one road all the way out there, then cut south. The nice part is, it's mostly all highway driving. > I plan to sign up the begining of July also before the discounted > deadline of July 15th. So I'll speak to you around then.. I'll probably sign up when I return from Florida. Otherwise the price goes WAY up. Talk to you soon, Art
